The trees from which these candles are born have endured great trials—scorched by fire, weathered by time—and yet, through the hands of the artist, they are transformed into something new, something beautiful. Each ancient juniper burl is unique, illustrating its centuries long story of survival. The burn marks are not flaws, but rather the visual echoes of nature’s strength and tenacity. They are the very soul of these candles, turning what was once consumed by flames into a glowing tribute to life’s ability to rise from the ashes.

C. Varker works directly with hotels, resorts, restaurants, spas and the designers who furnish them. Pieces are selected or commissioned to a property's palette and scale, from a single lamp in a suite to a series across a lobby, and delivered ready to light.

One of one: No two pieces share a grain. A collection of twelve is twelve different lamps.
Curated to the room: Forms, tones and sizes chosen against your finishes and lighting. Send drawings or photographs of the space.
Refillable: Oil, not wax. Nothing to replace but the oil.
Made to order: Commissions for specific sizes, quantities and timelines are taken directly. Lead times depend on the burl on hand.
